Course Description:

The goal of this new workshop series is to provide the geothermal designer with working knowledge the GLD 2010 software to effectively design and optimize the loopfields and piping in a geothermal system.  We will:

  • Learn how to simulate and optimize numerous ways of configuring the design of the loopfield and piping using the GLD software.

  • Correctly match the heat pump with the loopfield.

  • Design a headering system that uses flows and pipe sizes that work for peak operation and are purgeable

  • Perform simulations and compare results using data derived from actual student projects and discuss the outcome.

The course will take the student through design steps with the industry leading Ground Loop Design (GLD) 2012 Software Suite.  Discover the design simulation power of the GLD software and how to use it effectively to optimize a loopfield and mechanical system.  This software training series will go from start to finish utilizing your building loads to design the loopfields and piping systems,   including a full session dedicated to presentation of example designs from the instructor as well as actual system designs from the course participants. Two-way interaction with an our software experts provides the geothermal professional with hand-on experience using GLD 2012 software to design and optimize a GSHP system.
