Dates: 4 Week Online - 3 Hour Sessions
Location: Online

Instructor: Dan Bernstein; Ed Lohrenz; Terry Proffer

4 Week Instruction Course: $795 (U.S.D.)

Course Description:

The goal of this new workshop series is to provide the geothermal designer with working knowledge of the steps in the process of designing and optimizing the geothermal system.  We will:

  • Examine the critical phases of the design, beginning with the building design and modeling loads.

  • Learn how to simulate and optimize numerous ways of configuring the design of the loopfield and piping.

  • Correctly match the heat pump with the building and loopfield to develop a complete system.

  • Perform simulations and compare results using data derived from actual student projects and discuss the outcome.

The course will take the student through all of the critical design steps that are needed to accurately design a geothermal system. Utilizing the industry leading Ground Loop Design (GLD) 2010 Software Suite, this series will go from start to finish in the preparation of realistic designs for different situations, including a full session dedicated to presentation of example designs from the instructor as well as actual system designs from the course participants. Two-way interaction with an expert instructor provides the geothermal professional with the tools he or she needs to design and optimize GSHP systems.
