Commercial GSHP System Design and Optimization Course Dates: As Scheduled Two Day Instruction Course:
$1,395 U.S.D. (including
optional Day 3 Lab) Course Description: This course will provide you with the information and techniques necessary for you to become expert in the design of closed loop GSHP systems. After reviewing the terminology and technology used in commercial GeoExchange applications, the course instructor goes step by step though the process needed to design and optimize a range of ground heat exchangers (GHX) for specific buildings and specific sites. The course will define what information is required before you can use design software to design the GHX. It will show you the effects of the system you design, the equipment you select, the fluids you specify and how the myriad available options impact installation costs. Commissioning considerations and the identification of potential LEED points often missed with a GSHP system are also explored in detail. After this course you will feel comfortable responding to your clients' installation cost, energy costs and environment impact requirements. You will learn how to identify common concerns and solutions before they become issues. you will be learning how to design from one of the most experienced commercial designers in the world. This course is not taught from an academic theoretical perspective but from a hand on, practical one, a perspective that will provide you with a valuable design toolbox. Students are requested to bring a their laptops with them to class so that they can develop their expertise with the industry standard GLD design software via a number of in-class exercises.
