GTI is pleased to offer a
regular schedule of some of our most popular courses. We offer both
online and field training sessions to accomodate the busy geothermal
professional. Looking for a schedule by month -
The following lists our current courses:
IGSHPA Certified
GeoExchange Designer (CGD Plus) Course (Online)
Become a Certified GeoExchange Designer (CGD) with training brought to you through the combined efforts of the International Ground Source Heat Pump Association (IGSHPA), the Geothermal Heat Pump Consortium (GHPC), and the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE). As an architect or engineer, you have specific questions about GSHP systems that you want answered. IGSHPA has designed a program to offer advanced training towards certification as a GeoExchange Designer (CGD). From an introduction to the technology to a complete review of the design process, participants learn the specific information they need to know. IGSHPA has entered into a cooperative endeavor with the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) and the Geothermal Heat Pump Consortium (GHPC) to provide training for the Certified GeoExchange Designer Program.

Thermal Conductivity Testing Boot Camp
This class focuses on how to conduct
a thermal conductvity test as well as analyzing the resulting
test data. See commercial testing equipment at work on an actual test well.

GLD 2012 Software - Loopfield & Piping Design (Online)
Looking to use your design software
effectively to design geothermal loopfields and piping suystems?
This new series of ~3 hour online design workshops teaches you
about different phases of the geothermal design and
simulation process. Each session, a different part of
the design and planning process is a new focus.
After each workshop, students can work to their own pace to apply
what they have learned.
-
Session
1: Focuses on the loopfield design process
and how to effectively match the mechanical
system to the loopfield. Design the
system to take advantage of the available
geology and real estate.
-
Session
2: Is dedicated to piping and how
to design a headering and loopfield piping
system with optimal flows that can be
effectively purged and achieves oncentrates on fluid dynamics and optimizing the system
piping.
-
Session
3: Student projects and real world
examples are developed utilizing the
processes that were covered in the first two
workshops.
Designing and
verification will use heavy software simulation
and students need a laptop computer and broadband connection for
the hands-on design tool training lab using the
Ground
Loop Design (GLD) software.

GLD 2012 Quickstart - Training (Online)
This
three hour web session will provide users of GLD software a
quick-start to using the industry leading geothermal design (GLD)
tool. Students need their own web enabled computers for this hands-on
class using the Ground Loop Design (GLD2012) software.

GLD Software -
Classroom Training - (at 2013 IGSHPA Conference)
The objective of class is to provide the geothermal designer with in-depth, hands-on experience using the industry leading Ground Loop Design (GLD) Software Suite to design efficient, cost-effective and optimized GSHP systems. Two-way interaction with an expert instructor provides the geothermal professional with the tools he or she needs to optimize a range of GSHP systems.
In this course, you will learn the advanced techniques of developing an optimized solution using GLD software. This course will provide you with hands-on experience to properly configure the solution most well suited for your project. This course is excellent for design engineers, geothermal installers and other geothermal professionals.
Participants who complete the class will receive a GTI certificate of course completion.

Commercial System
Design and Optimization Course (Field Training)
Taught by an industry-leading designer, this two to three
day advanced design course teaches you what you need to know to go from concept to comissioning.
The instructor goes into detail about how to optimize integrated geothermal designs for a range
of standard and non-standard geothermal applications. Students are encouraged to bring laptops
for the optional hands-on design lab using the Ground Loop Design (GLD) software.

GHX Loads,
Loopfields and Piping Design Workshop Series (Online)
Taught by an industry-leading designers,
this new series of ~3 hour online design workshops teaches you
about different parts of the geothermal design and
simulation process. Each session, a different part of
the design and planning process is a new focus.
-
Week 1 begins
with the building load modeling process.
-
Week 2 is all
about the loopfield design process.
-
Week 3
concentrates on fluid dynamics and optimizing the system
piping.
-
Week 4 uses
data derived from student projects and predeveloped examples in a
discussion lab where everyone evaluates the scenarios.
Designing and
verification will use heavy software simulation
and students need a laptop computer and broadband connection for
the hands-on design lab using the
Ground Loop Design (GLD) software.

Corporate Training
Courses
A qualified instructor
will work with you to create a customized training course and then teach
it on-site to your staff.
Installers and
Drillers Boot Camps
These
training "boot camps" are the fastest way to learn how to properly
drill and install geothermal systems. Combining classroom
instruction and field work, participants work with experienced
teams of geothermal professionals and develop hands-on-skills.
Online Training
We offer a variety of live, web based training
courses. Geothermal professionals from across the
country and on other continents have discovered the
